Leticia Helleby Hardy, MD, Medical Director & Founder
Dr. Hardy received her undergraduate degree in Natural Science at Fordham University, New York, N.Y. in 1997. After her undergraduate education, she worked in a molecular genetics research lab on the Human Genome Project at Columbia University. She later decided to pursue a career in medicine and received her medical degree at the Health Science Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 2004. After medical school, she moved to Winston Salem, NC to complete her residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in 2007. She worked in the outpatient pediatric setting until 2011 when she founded and directed a family healthy-lifestyle clinic--Step Up. Dr. Hardy is an obesity medicine specialist and she is currently trained to see adults and children. Her mission is to combat the obesity epidemic by decreasing the barriers to fitness and wellness in the communities that she serves.
